WELCOME TO VIRTUAL JAMMERS

Virtual Jammers is a gathering place devoted to encouraging collaboration between digital artists of all skill levels. Collaboration in the jamming format allows new artists to grow in their skills and more accomplished artists to stretch beyond their established style.

A jam is a collaboration of 4 artists on an artist trading card (ATC). ATCs are the size of a regular trading card, which, coincidentally, is the same size as a playing card, 2.5" x 3.5".

In a non-virtual jam, the jam is started when someone sends out a card that is started, leaving room for the rest of the artists to add to the card. The card is passed from one artist to the next until it is completed. The final artist then sends it back to the originator who is responsible for getting copies of the finished card to everyone who contributed. This is all done by snail mail and can take quite a long time.

We are going to avoid snail mail and work entirely here within DA, thus it is a virtual jam.

Every 2 weeks we will call for participants for a virtual jam session. You do not need to "join" as this is not a club, but an informal gathering place. You just need to add it to your devwatch and stay tuned to the journal postings for upcoming jams.
